Cayucos Elementary School District's Governing Board will conduct a Public Hearing for the 2024-25 Local Control Accountability Plan at the June 3, 2024, Governing Board meeting, no earlier than 6:30 p.m. at 301 Cayucos Drive, Cayucos, California.

Cayucos, California: Cayucos School, nestled in the heart of San Luis Obispo County, continues their decades long tradition of celebrating Peace Day. Peace Day, for Cayucos School, is typically aligned with Earth Day (Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd to raise awareness and support for environmental protection) and is a school-wide assembly/celebration of friendship, kindness, and environmental awareness.

At our next Board of Trustees Meeting on February 14, 2024, our School Board will be discussing the Developer Justification Study and the possible increase, dismissal, or maintaining of developer fees in Cayucos. During this meeting, there will be a public hearing, seeking public input on this topic. Currently, our Developer Fees are collected at the 2014 rate of $3.36 per square foot for residential builds/remodels in excess of 500 square feet, and .54 for commercial builds.  On January 24, 2024, the State of California raised rates to the follow maximums: $5.17 for residential builds and .84 for commercial/industrial fees.

Martin Luther King Jr Day is a federal holiday in the United States that takes place on the third Monday in January. It honors the life and legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Each year, the celebration takes place on the Monday closest to his birthday, which is on January 15. This year, it is being held on his actual birthday- January 15.
