2022-23 State Test Scores: Cayucos Elementary School Falcons Continue to Soar!
At Cayucos Elementary, scores are significantly higher than the State of California percentages and are at the highest level since 2015. Cayucos Elementary School is a TK-8 school with 180 students, 36% socioeconomically disadvantaged students and 5% English Learners. Superintendent Jen Gaviola, “Our partnership with our parents, strong teaching practices and excellent educational staff, paraeducators in every elementary class, small class sizes, and intervention supports contribute greatly to our student success.” English Language Arts scores at Cayucos Elementary increased slightly from 2022 to 69.7% at or above grade level, with a similar increase in mathematics to 61.1% at or above grade level. In addition to the overall strong performance at Cayucos Elementary, a deeper dive into the data shows that most students made growth in one or both of the areas assessed. The highest achieving class was fourth grade with 78% of students on or above grade level in English language arts and 91% of students on or above grade level in mathematics. Other highlights include seventh-grade students' high achievement in mathematics, 71% on or above grade level, compared to the state performance of 33% on or above grade level.
